The arts are a life-enriching medium of celebration and in addition to our schedule of concerts and multi-arts events, Fremont Abbey hosts a select number of private community events that are also creative celebrations of local life.
We view weddings as an artistic, creative, community-celebrated gathering centered around the love and commitment of two people. As part of our nonprofit mission, we want to develop a partnership with you (as a member of the Abbey) to help create a beautiful and unique event for you and your loved ones.
We host a limited number of weddings occur each year to make room for other arts & community events including many nonprofit benefit auctions & galas. With an Abbey Membership, by supporting community arts programs you are able to use the space for your special celebration.

For Weddings at the Fremont Abbey or Ballard Homestead*, an artistic proposal is requested to ensure inclusion of at least two key artistic elements using preferably locally sourced artists such as:
As an eco-friendly and aspiring “green” venue (with composting, efficient heating & lighting, new insulation, natural cleaning supplies and other re-use of materials, etc.) we also require events to compost, recycle and reduce waste to lower their impact on the environment.
If you cannot make a tour and need pricing right away we can let you know that typical full evening wedding membership package will be $3200 with discounts often available for Fridays or off-peak dates to bring the cost down to as low as $2000. Holidays and peak season weekends may be slightly higher. Daytime rates are approx $1500. All pricing subject to change, request a quote here.
Unlike many venues, this includes both floors for ceremony + reception options for up to 400 people total in the building, 250 upstairs fire code, approx 220 seated max for dinner. We have professional sound system for toasts and background music/DJ, our white wedding chairs and other chairs, plenty of tables, commercial kitchen, 3 dressing rooms, projector/screens on either level, vintage furniture, day of Facility Manager, and more.
We also include an early afternoon rehearsal (typically the day before at 2:30pm) at no additional charge.
We are often able to work with budget challenges, artists, nonprofits workers, neighbors and anyone we can when our own nonprofit budget and scheduling allows. We typically offer 2-5 weddings per year during off-peak months at a lower price that includes some expectation of what we call “volunteer barter”. Friday evenings or Saturdays during the day (8a-4p) are also lower rates if that’s an option for your event.
NOTE: Sundays are not generally available at the Abbey for private events.
