    Join friends & neighbors to celebrate the fantastic Superfoods Fall program! This will be a foodie celebration and community dinner with some main dishes provided by the Abbey (prepared by chef Tomer, Nomad Dinners) and everyone bringing sides of their favorite healthy foods to share.This dinner event is open to all, whether or not you were able to take part in the classes or workshops. RSVP’s here on Facebook appreciated so we know how much food to prepare.6-9pm and includes live entertainment from local artists!

    New Food/Arts program launches this Fall at Fremont Abbey Arts Center featuring Monday classes and many food/arts events throughout October-December. Made possible in part by City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Matching Fund grant.

    Grow your brain on the arts (and fuel it with healthy “super foods”) at the Abbey this Fall! FREE food classes & events including music, visual arts, dance and great community based learning with neighbors and new friends.

    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

    SUPERFOODS: Join chefs, teaching artists, neighbors and friends to learn how to create a week’s worth of different meals using nutrient rich “superfoods” to accent other healthy food while your kids learn “Brain Meets Body” dance & creative visual arts.  Parents & kids will learn about food briefly at the beginning and end of each class session.  This class will be focusing on affordable and organic produce when possible.  Some food supplies and tastings at every class provided free of charge!

    Parents will learn to cook in the new Abbey commercial kitchen with professional chefs and assistants while kids learn dance, visual arts, and other fun creativity connected to food & health in other larger rooms at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center.

    The cooking class will focus on discovering new foods and finding fun & easy ways to involve “super foods” into healthy & organic meals.

    FREE Classes for parents & kids (4-6:30pm). Perfect for single parents!
    Adults welcome at second class session (7pm), suggested donation $5-15. Minimum registration = 4
    Each class is valued at $50+ per class which includes free food sampling.

    SuperFoods Evening Class:
    7-9p for ages 21+, $5-10 suggested donation per class

    10/1/12 — FREE Open House Demo Class & Food Tasting
    4-7pm (stop by anytime or stay for the whole class) cooking demos, class demos for kids, meet the chef & teachers, more!
    + Visual art gallery opening reception for Roger Willsie

    10/25/12FRESH FOODIES community meal (16 people max). RSVP via the Facebook group.

    *11/5/12 — FREE Open House Class & Food Tasting
    with guest celebrity chef Mark Reinfeld (Vegan Fusion, Hawaii)
