At Abbey Arts, volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. Whether you’re ushering at a concert, assisting with setup, or contributing your skills behind the scenes, your involvement helps create spaces where art and community flourish.

Flexible Opportunities

We understand that time is valuable. That’s why we offer:

• Micro-Volunteering: Short, task-based roles that fit into your schedule.  Can include tech work, building out storage, organizing, cleaning venues, etc.  

• Remote Volunteering: Contribute from anywhere with tasks like researching bands, finding openers, digital outreach, inviting people to events, or content creation.

• Event Support: Assist during concerts, workshops, and special events.  These roles include setting up chairs & decor, teardown, door welcome (after training & approval), sound or lighting support, bar assistant, etc. ​

Abbey Arts is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome (if you’re being kind & respectful of course :-). We actively seek volunteers from diverse backgrounds and strive to accommodate various needs and schedules as best our small nonprofit team can.

Please do your best to treat everyone with respect, care and empathy.  Check out our Respect Policy before signing up or entering our events.   Since we are an independent nonprofit, we may ask folks to leave if they are not adhering to these important safety & welcome policies.

We also encourage volunteers to consider their energy and communication styles when hosting at the door, interacting with artists, etc. to help create a welcoming calm environment for attendees & artists.

Roles Available – Varies by date & location

• Event Ushers / Door: Welcome guests and ensure smooth event operations.  – Must enjoy talking to people! 

• Setup or Tear Down Crew: Assist with preparing venues for events. – Good for behind the scenes folks!  

• Digital Outreach: Help with social media and online promotions.

• Marketing Team:  Help with postering, flyers, creative connections (yoga studios?), etc. to help support the shows

• Photography/Videography: Capture moments from our events.

• Tech & Setup Crew:  Sound, lights, staging – setup or teardown at major events​

• Venue Care:  Maintenance and improvement projects, help keep these old buildings vibrant!
